Pressing skip forward 15 button goes back to last time I skipped forward in podcast

My Question or Issue

Hello, I've noticed over about the past two months and on 3 different platforms: iPhone 11, iPhone 14, and Apple Watch Series 7, that when I play a podcast, and so the contextual menu shows an option to skip forward and back 15 seconds, that sometimes when I press the skip forward button it jumps back to when I last skipped.

I often listen to longer podcasts, ~45 minutes that have multiple sets of ads in them (not like the joe rogan ads where it brings up a different track) or an intro song or shout-outs or something that I like to skip. So after I skip the intro song, when I get to the first ad, and hit skip forward 15 seconds, it jumps back to the end of the intro song where I stopped skipping before. This is super irritating because trying to skip forward back to where I was in 15 second intervals takes forever. I'd like to note that I can look at my phone or watch and see that I'm 2/3 of the way through and then as soon as I hit the skip forward button, it jumps the progress bar back to 1/3. I'd also like to note that this only seems to happen if there is like a 10-minute break or more between when I first skipped and my second skip forward 15 command.

This happens whether I pre-downloaded the episode or I'm streaming it. It happened to me today on the versions above while on a run on my apple watch, and has happened to me multiple times in the car (not apple car play or car thing, just Bluetooth).

This is indeed some weird behavior. Can you try playing a podcast episode or two, without skipping the ads and then try to skip forward 15 sec a couple of times. Does the same issue occur?

You can also send us a link to an episode on which this happens so we can try it out on our end. I tried this on iOS for a few different podcasts, but the skip button just skips 15 sec forward. So this issue might be related to the specific podcast or to the ads.
