'Previous Track' button skips to 'Next Track' on Porsche PCM 3.0 Car Stereo

In my 2011 Porsche 911, I'm using the iPod interface to stream Spotify through my stereo. One odd issue is that the 'previous track' button advances to the next track. This button behaves normally in Apple apps like Music and Podcasts, so I'm not sure what is different about Spotify. Any tips?

I’m having the same issue in a 2012 Honda Civic using the i-MID system, which recognizes my iPhone as an iPod. Pressing the previous track button on either the center console or the steering wheel always skips to the next track with the Spotify app. This also happens for me with the Google Play Music and SoundCloud apps. Though, the stock Music app works correctly and will go to the previous track. This might be an iOS bug for third-party apps that Apple has to fix.
