Private Playlist Settings not Synching Across Desktop and iPhone

Private Playlist Settings not Synching Across Desktop and iPhone

I have noticed that even though I have changed the setting "Make my new playlists public" to off on the desktop my playlists I create on my iphone on the same account are still public initially. Everything else seems to synch seamlessly across devices and I cannot figure out why this setting is not. This is especially annoying because I do almost all of my playlist creation on my iphone and rarely use my computer for spotify and I would like my playlists to be initially set to private when I first create them on my iphone. Is there any reason why my settings are not synching but everything else is or anyway I can specifically change this setting on my iphone because I do not see it under the "social" section the way I see it on my computer?

Hey @Cakeinator3000,

Thanks for posting your question.

Let's start with logging out of the app on the phone and logging back in a couple of times. If you have tried that already, tell us also what other troubleshooting steps you've tried, so we can avoid proposing them.

We can then try a clean reinstall of both the desktop and phone apps. More on how to do one is described here.

If that still doesn't resolve the issue, more info on your device setup would be great:

Could you share your device's make/model/OS ?

Are you connected to the same network with both devices as the issue occurs? Could you try connecting your PC to the internet through a hot spot from your phone?

Do the playlist privacy settings sync with another phone or by using a different account on the PC and the phone?

Keep us posted,

Cheers!
