Re: Downloading music on Apple Watch

Re: Downloading music on Apple Watch

This is my newest problem . . . [Recap: I was able to use the new "download to apple watch" feature just fine for about 3 days. Then it started acting weird and not playing my playlist (instead of showing the playlist, it was showing "Laura's Apple Watch".]

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Spotify app at least 5 times.  Now when I open "downloads" on my Apple Watch it is stuck on "loading" with no obvious way to clear out of that screen. I have closed out the app on my watch and as mentioned uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, power cycled the watch, etc., but still, it's been stuck like that for over an hour. I have also tried downloading a playlist to my watch and then removing the playlist from my apple watch (via Spotify on my phone) to see if that cleared it, but to no avail.

I have an Apple Watch 3, OS 7.5 and using Spotify 8.6.30.968

What should I do?

I have been trying to download songs to my apple watch but when I go to check the progress, it just says "Downloading" and won't tell me how many songs it's downloaded or if it's even doing anything at all. I have the latest OS in both my watch and phone and have already tried performing a clean reinstall of the app, deleted the app's cache and paired/unpaired it with my watch. Nothing seems to work.

Hi there @rckymtn23 and @sanjanas0201,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

Can you confirm that you followed the steps that's provided in this article? There's some more steps to help thoroughly uninstall the app from your phone so if you haven't, we'd highly suggest it since the steps will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

If you did and the issue persist, we suggest that you:

  • unpair and re-pair watch
  • factory reset the watch
  • try on a different wi-fi network

Let us know how it goes.

Take care!
