Remove tappable area below now playing bar in app (iOS)

Remove tappable area below now playing bar in app (iOS)

Not sure if this is considered a bug but it’s definitely not a feature. I’m not sure how I manage to nail the location 50% of the time, but when tapping on the now playing bar after scrolling through a playlist in the iOS app, sometimes I’ll hit the area just beneath the bar and tap on the song that is underneath. This is quite annoying as it clears my shuffle queue and changes the song, and I’m hoping it can easily be fixed by maybe just making it so you can’t tap between the now playing and navigation bars.

Attached is a picture with the location of the zone circled. You can see that the song behind the now playing bar is also the one that is playing; I managed to tap in the yellow zone and it played that song.

Not sure if it impacts this, but  I am on an iPhone 15 with the text scaling set to the lowest setting. I believe I also had the same issues on my previous phones, but atp I cannot remember.

Hi @graydenbartlett,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please provide us the following:

  • If you can, please test this on other devices and let us know if the same happens.
  • When did this start happening?
  • What iOS version are you using?
  • The exact Spotify Versions you use.

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.

Keep us posted.
