I can’t believe there’s not more posts about Spotify removing the ability to delete a song from a playlist on iOS. This feature was asked for for years and FINALLY was added, and now, sometime in late 2021 (I think?) Spotify actually removed the feature. What the heck? Why can’t you give me the ability to manage MY playlists the way I WANT to? Really really tempted to ditch Spotify. This is infuriating to me.
Hey @jmv_colorado, welcome to the Community.
Hope you're doing great!
I'd suggest checking this support article on how to remove songs from your playlist.
That's one way, the other one is by tapping the … next to the song you want to remove from said playlist.
Let me know if that helps 🙂
Tapping the 3 dots of a playing song does NOT bring up an option to remove that song from the current playlist. It USED to, but no longer does. I've also seen suggestions to swipe left or right on a song while viewing a playlist… nope. You only get options to queue it or favorite it.
No worries. With the recent Joe Rogan stuff and this, I've decided to abandon Spotify once and for all. Moved to a competitor and used an app to automatically transfer all my playlists! Awesome!
Hey @jmv_colorado,
Can you clarify if you're not able to remove a song from your own playlist or from a public playlist created by another user or Spotify.
If it's the latter, not that the Hide song option is available for songs only - not for podcast episodes or videos in mixed media playlists.
If you ever decide to use Spotify again, you're always welcome to reach out again. We'll do our best to help.

Click on the three dots next to the song you want to remove to open a drop-down menu.
Click "Remove from this Playlist."

I’m not quite ready to quit yet but I agree with what was said. The ability to remove a song is no longer available from the iPhone app. See attached.
This has been happening for me for the last few days. The Remove from Playlist option has disappeared from iOS for podcasts within playlists and there is just a gap in the menu where it used to be. What the heck Spotify?! Get it together!! If this is intentional, that’s pretty despicable. I am a paid user. If you want to charge me an extra dollar to delete from a playlist, go ahead, but don’t get rid of useful features.
I tried reinstalling the app. Deleting other stuff on my phone to make space in case that was messing with the app. I updated from iOS 16.0.2 to 16.1.2. Didn’t help.
Really hoping this is a bug. Definitely switching to a different service for podcasts if this is how Spotify has chosen to operate
I started having the same problem a couple of days ago. My app looks exactly the same. The only way to remove songs from a playlist is to log into my computer and do it from there.
Hey there,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
In order for us to relay this experience to out tech team, we'd need further info. Could you share the link to the affected playlist? We also need a short screen recording of the experience together with the model, OS of your device and the Spotify app version installed.
It's also important to try using a different account and see if the option is present.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
Are you kidding? How dumb do you take us for?!? That obviously wasn’t the problem!
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
