Sharing a song via text message option no longer an option.

When selecting the share button I no longer see the option to share via text message if this feature made it easy to share music with friends.

if this feature was removed please add it back. I feel this negatively impacts the user experience because now I have to do four steps to share a song.

Agree. Please bring back Share to “More…”. I don’t need nor want that Insta/Snap/WhatsApp or other presets but want to be in control to which app I want to share. Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

First up, we'd recommend logging out and then logging back in two times in a row in your phone. It sounds a bit odd, but it forces a sync between the account and your device. 

If this doesn't do the trick, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one.

That did not work. I did step by step these options and nothing. I agree it seemed like it was designed this way on purpose. I close to never use the other options and the one I use 99% of the time is gone? Seems like the wrong direction for functionality. If anything there should be a one click feature to share via my close friends

I tried this and still no option. This also the case on my friend’s devices. It appears this feature has changed .

Thanks for your replies.

This sharing functionality would depend largely on the phone brand and current OS version. This change could've been introduced in a firmware update, in which case there is no way to manually alter this from the Spotify app. I'd recommend keeping both your Spotify app and OS up to date, as this might be updated in the future.

I tried this both on Android and iPhone and have the option to share via text message (SMS/ iOS Messages), as well as other messaging apps. 

What we'd recommend is copying the link to the song and sharing it in a new message. I understand that it takes an extra step.
