The Connect option in Shazam settings will only appear in countries where Spotify is available. If you can't see the Spotify option on Shazam music pages, go to Shazam Settings and make sure you're signed in.
If you're having trouble opening or syncing with Spotify, try disconnecting Spotify in Shazam's settings, restarting both apps, and reconnecting.

I believe this behavior is happening because you are not logged into Spotify at the time Shazam redirects you to the browser. Could you check this?

I’ve been having the same issue since March. This is when I started using iPhone 15Pro. Meanwhile, everything works perfect on my other iPhone 13Pro. So I assume this is smth to do with the new iPhone, despite having the same iOS, Spotify and Shazam versions installed on both old and new phones.
Tried everything recommended by spotify support website, but the problem persists. And it doesn’t matter if I’m logged in to the web player or the app or not. The click on the spotify button in shazam redirects me automatically to the web player. Moreover, it won’t open the song I clicked. I get the blank spotify page saying “Play what you like”. Well, Spotify, this is exactly what I’m trying to do here.
So far no luck in fixing this issue.
I too have this issue on my IPhone 15pro. Is there a theme here? It’s running IOS 17.6.1. Could it be caused by the most recent software update?

Guys, I have a new information to consider. Have you tried sending or receiving a link to a Spotify song/album and opening it? For me it doesn’t work. Apparently, it’s not about Spotify and Shazam correlation at all. It is clearly Spotify’s issue. Let’s address it to their support, everyone!
Update:
I asked for help from the support, they connected me with an advisor. I explained the situation and he sent me a link for clean reinstall to try as a first step and it worked out! Now it works with Shazam and follows the links in the app.

Great. But shouldnt it add a shazam playlist folder in spotify? And shouldn't it also add it to the list of connected apps like it does waze?
Fixed this issue by downloading old version of Shazam (14.29)
