Does anyone know why, when I shuffle play on my phone, it throws in lots of other songs from other albums (like the radio function) but when I play on my computer it just shuffles the songs from the album I'm listening to, as intended? It's super annoying when the majority of the songs are playing are from random other albums and I can't skip it.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hey, any computer will run more features of premium than Spotify free on phones, so you can choose your songs on the computer but only shuffle on phone. You would have to upgrade to stop this!
Hey ejohns42!
I am curious if on your phone you are shuffling by the artist on the main screen?
(1st screenshot)
This will include a random assortment of their catalog in the shuffle mix if so.
In order to shuffle by the album only you would need to go to the album page itself and click shuffle. (second screenshot) This will then stay within that album's tracklist.
Let me know if this doesn't solve it or if I misunderstood! 🙂
Hi! So my spotify on my phone looks like the below attachment. Maybe I'm just missing it, but I'm only seeing one shuffle option, and it is for the album itself. That's the shuffle button I'm pressing when I get the songs by other artists...am I missing something?
Hi again, and thanks for the extra info! 🙂
So, it is including other artists that should not be part of this soundtrack? I noticed it says various artists and am assuming that it must be pulling in related content if so?
Another question ... have you already tried setting the album to repeat all?
I am curious because am not sure if an album that has various content would function like auto-play does. You might want to try disabling this function (if it's enabled) and see if that helps the issue. 🙂
Thanks for responding again!
The album has multiple artists so I assumed that's what it meant (that's what it means when I play it on my computer). I don't think you're solution will work, unfortunately, because it plays other artists before the album ends, usually after only two or three songs. My computer's free account (which is the same account) has a play option and then it shuffle plays the songs from the album. The phone app only has a shuffle play option, and then it plays lots of different songs from different albums. I just don't get why they wouldn't work the same...Hopefully you're not stumped like I am after this update!

That's so annoying...at least I know it's a legitimate thing and not something in my head. Thanks for letting me know!
