I have been a spotify premium user for years and within the last year, my spotify has stopped allowing me to shuffle when using cellular data but does shuffle on wifi.
I have deleted the app multiple times, and reinstalled. Updated my phone, etc.
What can I do to fix this?

Does this experience occur only on one mobile device and only one account? Could you try switching accounts and devices for a bit?
How exactly does Shuffle not work when on mobile data? Just to make sure, could you check if Spotify has all the necessary permissions to access the mobile data?
What are the brand/model and operating system of your device?

I am also having this issue. My spotify will not shuffle when off of wifi and I have also deleted, restarted and logged out of my app.
I have no found a solution.

Does regular playback work when you're not connected to the wifi or it's just the shuffled playback? Do you have a Premum or a free account?

Only shuffled playback does not work when not on wifi. The music plays but the button to shuffle won’t activate unless on wifi.

In order to continue investigating this case, include in your next response the make, model, and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.
Also, could you record a short video where we can take a better look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permission for anyone to watch it).

I have an Apple iPhone Xr running on iOS 16.5.1.
The Spotify version I am using is 8.8.46.565.

It looks like you don't have the latest version of the app installed. In this case, we suggest that you perform a clean reinstall of the app by following these specific steps.
If this doesn't do the trick, could you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your phone to see if they can replicate this behavior with their own account?
Lastly, we'd like to know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update.

I am also experiencing this issue for some time. If I pick a random song to play or my playlist ends, it wont play suggested tracks, it just ends. But if I’m on wifi then it works as expected!
