Some Local Files Not Playing on Iphone 12 Pro

Solved!

Some Local Files Not Playing on Iphone 12 Pro

Hi Guys,
I recently upgraded from my iphone 6s to an iPhone 12 Pro. I had a local files library of about 30 tracks working well on my previous phone, however after re-syncing the files onto my new phone many songs show up and are not grayed out but have no album art and do not play. What's even more annoying is that some tracks still have album art and play as usual. These playable tracks seem to have no distinguishing features. I have tried moving the files in and out of the desktop folder, updating both apps and restarting. But nothing is working. I am on the same network and my router is set to allow universal plug & play.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Hey there @CamQ and thanks for reaching out!

There are a few other things that we can check to make sure we've covered all basic steps.

First, you'll need to make sure that the files can be played on your PC, so that you'd be able to successfully sync them to mobile.

You can begin by performing a clean reinstall of the app (instead of a regular one) on both your phone and computer. If you have a Windows 10 OS on your computer, we'd recommend that you download the app from the Microsoft store.

Then, it will be a good idea to try using a different network just to be on the safe side. For example you could start a hot spot on your phone and use that network.

Cheers,

Re-Installing the app on my phone fixed it. Had to do it twice for whatever reason, but all is back to normal!

Awesome to hear that it's all working as expected now @CamQ!

If the app starts misbehaving again, you know where to find us.

Have a lovely day!
