Song playlist number metadata not displaying properly

Starting about a month ago (I haven't posted until now because I was sure others would notice and there would be a bug fix in an update at some point), I started noticing that the metadata for the song I was playing in my car was no longer showing the correct number of the song that was being played in the current playlist. For example, I would turn on my 100-song playlist, and I would choose song number 95. Normally it would show song 95 on the metadata. Instead, it will show 1 or 7 or 6 or something random. Heck, it may not be as random as I'm assuming. I haven't paid too much attention to what the wrong number may be correlating to, I just know that if I play it in order without shuffle on, and let's use the same example, if it were to be song number 95 in my playlist I'm playing, that it would say song 1, and then when that song finished and went to song #96, it could say #11. There's seemingly no rhyme or reason to the wrong metadata. I'm not entirely sure what's going on.
