Songs are not syncing from desktop to iPhone

So I have an older version of Spotify, version 0.8.5.1356. I've never had any major issues, besides sometimes my local files would not sync to my phone, but now I'm having a different problem. I was trying to sync some local files to my phone and imported them from iTunes, and everything was fine on my computer, I added them to some playlists that were synced for offline. When I tried to sync them to my phone, they wouldn't even show up. Usually they'll show up on my phone but just grayed out, this time I couldn't even see them. I then tried adding a song that was already on Spotify to the playlist, but it wouldn't sync either. 

If I have to update my version on my Mac I will, but would it be possible to have two versions at once?
