Songs aren't available offline on Airplane Mode on iPhone 6

Songs aren't available offline on Airplane Mode on iPhone 6

Recently, I have tried using my Spotify account offline/in airplane mode because I have been traveling and either am away from any WiFi or data connection, or just want to reduce my data usage. When I put my phone into Airplane mode, only about 5 or six of my songs out of about 1,000 are available to play. However, all of my 1,000 or so songs have the green arrow next to them, indicating that they are available offline, yet when I try to access them offline, they won't play. I'm not sure how to make it so those songs will download so that I can listen to them while on Airplane mode. If anyone has any idea why this is happening, I would greatly appreciate a solution! Thanks!

Same problem... began when I restored a new iPhone 6+ to a backup of my old iPhone 6, that doesn't have the issue, which is frustrating.  Here's what I've done so far, without success:

- Deleted Spotify app, reinstalled

- Downloaded all music (twice) - plenty of storage, all songs have the green arrow.

- Followed Spotify troubleshooting tips, no joy.

- Restored the new iPhone 6+ to the previously backed up iPhone 6 image again

- Confirmed that music is actually on the phone - approx 1.3Gb storage taken

- Only playlist that does not have this issue is the Spotify 'Discover Weekly' playlist

When I start playing a song that is not in the Discover Weekly playlist it commences playing.  After I can do one of three things, all of which have the same result - go offline through the selection in Settings > Playback; go to Airplane mode; disable WiFi / mobile data for Spotify - with the song finishing playing, but the next one in the playlist not sequencing on, with the time counter displaying 0.00.  The play icon displays the pause button - indicating that Spotify thinks it is still playing...but no music.

I can then restore an internet connection, press pause then play, and music recommences.  This, and resetting the data usage counter confirms that Spotify is using data to stream this music, and not play from the saved file.

Version 5.7.0.1055, iOS 9.3.2 - problem has persisted through 3 Spotify updates and 1 iOS update.

Hi @Amyehall1997 @sprinks310,

This is strange. Have you tried opening spotify with an internet connection, then entering airplane mode using control centre (swipe up from the bottom of the screen). Just a guess, but it could work.

Let me know how you get on.

If this is a good comment, please give it kudos. If it solves your issue, please accept it as the solution.

Check out my playlists for some new music - follow so I can check your music out too.

Just trying it now... from the screen caps above have gone online from Spotify Settings > Playback, pressed pause then play (music started), then Airplane mode from Control Centre... 2.08 to run in the song.

No joy - hasn't sequenced, and won't play without being online.

Thanks for the quick reply - the mystery continues.

This is exactly my problem as well. The distribution of the songs that *do* play and those that don't appears to be random.
