Songs repeatedly end prematurely

When playing any sort of playlist, every song ends about a minute prematurely. This is ruining the listening experience and is extremely frustrating. This has been happening for close to two months! How can I fix this??

To clarify, I have this problem specifically when playing on the Spotify app on my iPhone 4S.

Have you tried a clean reinstallation?

Yes. It worked for a bit then went back to doing the same thing.

Not sure if it's quite the same problem, but after a while it's like spotify gets stuck in an 'intro' mode - it's inly plays around the first 40s of a track before moving on to the next...
