Songs slowing down and then speeding up like broken record player

My Question or Issue

Never before has this happened but it’s super annoying.  Bluetoothed to my brand new AirPods Pro, play back of songs slows to about half time with full audio distortion like a faulty drive on a record player and then about 5 seconds later speeds up to 1.25 speed and then normalizes for a few minutes and then does it again.  I turned off Bluetooth and listened on my phone speakers, same thing.  I hard reset the iPhone, worked ok for a few and then same thing.  I deleted the app and reloaded and logged in, started again after about 10 minutes.  This does not happen on my phone with any other streaming service.  Wi-Fi is working well, phone lte is working well, happens on both Wi-Fi and lte.
