Songs won't play while online, unless I click shuffle play

Recently switched from premium to a free subscription, and the songs will no longer light up while online. I tried uninstalling, disconnecting wifi, clicking/unclicking the offline option. Nothing is helping.. I want to switch back to premium but can't tell if this problem will persist even after doing so. Help pls..

Only Premium users can choose to play any track, anytime from smartphones (this limitation doesn't apply on tablets and laptops). Don't worry, that's the way it's supposed to work! Should you upgrade to Premium again, you'll get the feature back along with offline playback and better audio quality! Find out more on this Support article.
