[Sonos] Connect cannot set sleeptimer with iOS

[Sonos] Connect cannot set sleeptimer with iOS

Since I converted to IOS I realized a few shortcomings of the IOS-Spotify compared to the Android one.

I wish to use my smart-speaker via Spotify connect and be able to set the sleeptimer to a certain time, making sure I can doze of to some nice music, so don‘t need to listen to music in phone speaker quality or wake up in to music in the middle of the night.

This works like a charm on the Pixel fleet of my entire family, and it took my some time to understand that I did not experience bug but the lack of a feature here.

Hey @maxschuck

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. We moved your post from Ideas to the help boards as it's content fits better here.

The sleep timer is a feature available in both Android and iOS devices, even when using the Connect feature. We'd first recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app. This is often an overlooked step, but it can be helpful to get rid of any corrupted files that might be causing issues between the devices.

If that doesn't do the trick, include in your next response the make and model of your speaker and also the OS version and Spotify version you’re currently running in your iPhone. This is to have a better look at the issue and help you further.

We’ll be on the lookout for your next response.

In our house with some Sonos speakers and 2 android devices and 2 ios phones,

The Sleep timer feature while using spotify connect is not available on IOS !

But works without issue on Android.

So why doesn't spotify support the sleep timer with connect ?

Hey @mouskouyouss,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Can you please provide the info requested in the previous post by @OscarDC and let us know if this happens with both podcast episodes and music tracks? Also, have you tried any troubleshooting steps so far?

Keep us posted.

I have the same issue and can't use the sleep timer of Spotify to stream podcasts to my external SONOS speakers. Surprisingly my wife has also an iPhone and she can use the sleep timer. Yes, I deleted the app and re-installed it. Nothing changed.
