Sonos grouping/ungrouping linkage no longer working

Sonos grouping/ungrouping linkage no longer working

Since the new Sonos app came out recently, the feature in Spotify that jumps into the speaker-grouping interface of Sonos no longer works.   When selected, it jumps briefly to the Sonos app and then immediately back to Spotify.

Hey @Aaciii,

Thanks for reaching out.

Have you tried any troubleshooting already? If not, here are some suggestions:

  • Reinstall the Spotify and Sonos apps.
  • Reset your speakers and group them again.
  • Try connecting the speakers to a hotspot on your phone.

It would also be helpful if you could send us the model, OS version and Spotify version of your phone along with the models of your Sonos speakers.

Keep us posted.

I can create groups of speakers in Sonos to play the same music in different rooms around the house.
These speaker groups do not appear in the list of Sonos speakers that I can connect to from within Spotify.
Why not?
I can connect to individual (and paired) Sonos speakers in the different rooms - but only one room at a time - which isn't much use... and is far less convenient than iTunes where I can play the same music in all the rooms that select.
A lack of functionality that should be very easy to overcome - or bug fix! - as I believe that I should already be able to connect to 'grouped' Sonos speakers from within Spotify...???
