Spotify App on Ipod Touch Stops Working For No Reason

Spotify App on Ipod Touch Stops Working For No Reason

I have an Ipod Touch 4th gen. I have been using Spotify on it for a couple of years now with no problems. Now with the new version of Spotify, the app just shuts down in the middle of about the 3rd or 4th song and I have to open up the all all over again and go into "your music" to start it all over again. The other thing is that it doesn't react to like it should. When I touch the Ipod to fast forward, it takes 3-4 seconds before it reacts. NONE of these things happened before! I have uninstalled the app and resynced it SEVERAL times to no avail. Customer service is basically ignoring me. Does anyone else have these problems and does anyone have a fix? This is driving me nuts! I don't want to pay $9.99 a month for an app that doesn't work. Please help!

Hello @mauiman1959 Welcome to the Spotify Community!

I guess some of the files on your device is corrupted.

I'll need your help to logout from the mobile app, and uninstall and install (reinstall) the application entirely..

Do you have any songs in offline mode? If so, I'll need your help to login to Spotify.com, login to your account, head to the offline devices tab and click on remove all devices.

It should work.

PS: the new version of spotify actually speeds up the entire experience on iOS.. So give it a shot and let me know.

Thank you fr your response but I have already done that. TWICE! And this ONLY began to happen when I downloaded the new version. Like IMMEDIATELY! It NEVER happened prior to that so I can't see how I could have infected files. And I have also deleted it as my offline device and reinstalled it. Any other suggestions?

@mauiman1959

Someone had a similar problem in the past and it may sound dumb but it's worth to give it a shot:

Restart your iPhone entirely.

Hi @mauiman1959 thanks for your posts. Do you mind giving us the following details so we can keep looking into this for you:

1. Your exact device (iPod touch 5th generation)

2. Your iPod touch OS

3. The Spotify app version installed

Thanks!

It is an Apple Ipod Touch 4th Generation, model number MC547LL/A

The problem occurs over both wifi and data.

It is iOS 6.1.6

I have Spotify version 0.9.10.22.gf87988f9

I am not using any task killing apps.

Also, how do I separate out my local tracks within a Spotify file? Do I have to go thru one by one? And can you download a whole album on Spotify or is that one song at a time too?

Thank you.

Are you using Spotify v1.4 on the iPod Touch?
