Spotify Connect stopped working on Bose Soundbar 700

Bose has recently rolled out support for AirPlay 2, which is nice, but I can't use Spotify Connect with my Soundbar 700 any more -- the option is not available and the device is only shown under AirPlay in Spotify. This is also means I now "have" to be on the same WiFi as my speaker.

I still prefer Spotify Connect over AirPlay because I don't like to stream from my phone (consumes battery, lower sound quality?). Not sure if this is a Bose issue or a Spotify issue.
