My Question or Issue
I use the Klipsch Three speakers. Since a Spotify app update one of my two speakers randomly stops playing audio even thought it remains connected to my WiFi. If I switch to Amazon Music or to Music on my phone both speakers play. This affects either speaker. The only way I can fix the issue is to disconnet the working speaker from my network by powering off. Then I delete the speaker group and create a new group. This may be a bug and I wanted to report it.
I’m having the exact same issue. Never was a problem until a few updates ago. Only happens with Spotify, all other music streaming platforms work fine. Reached out to Spotify customer support and they were zero help.
Hi folks,
Sorry for the delayed reply, we just came across this thread.
@MikJ, @Dwarbou, could you let us know if you're still experiencing this issue? If so, would you mind letting us know which troubleshooting steps you've already tried?
@CK-24, first up, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one. If this doesn't do the trick, would you mind checking if the firmware of your device has any pending updates?
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
Since this post there have been multiple updates to both the Spotify and the Klipsch Stream IOS apps. These updates also included several firmware updates - all of which I’ve done and these have improved the performance. I recommend you do all the updates including the firmware and be careful that you give yourself enough time for the firmware updates to download and install - ideally at a time when both speakers are connected and working. When I’ve had issues in the past I have reset the problem speaker using the factory reset button and patiently waited until the unit has fully rebooted and then reconnected it to my Wi-Fi using the Klipsch Stream app. I will say that I’ve technically competent and run a computer support business and in spite of this I’ve found these Klipsch Threes (although they look beautiful and sound great) to be temperamental to say the least. I feel for those who have been struggling with these speakers.
Hi,
Since my post, I have reset and reinstall the speaker several time, completely change my ip network from asus to unifi.
I'm still having the issues with Spotify. I have give up the idea of streaming Spotify to multiple device.
Hey folks,
Thanks for getting back to us.
@MikJ We're happy to hear that performing the firmware updates solved this for you.
@Dwarbou Could you confirm if you still experience this after trying out the steps suggested by @MikJ? If reinstalling or changing the network didn't help, it'd be a good idea to check for firmware updates or reboot the affected speaker.
Keep us in the loop here.
Me too
