Problem with Spotify connect on iOS 16 not keeping up with music played on Echo

Problem with Spotify connect on iOS 16 not keeping up with music played on Echo

I often play music with my echo dot and controlling via iPhone through connect.

The problem started on my iPhone 14 pro.

When Spotify is in the background or the screen is locked, the app gets stuck on one song after it ends. It shows the pause button and zero seconds runtime left. Restarting the app helps.

I'm using premium.

Hey there @simoo,

Thanks for the post.

Sorry to hear that this is happening with your music.

Can you let us know if the songs stop like that if you're playing straight from the phone speaker and not connected to the Echo device? Also, does music continue as expected if you start it via voice command on the Echo directly?

Looking forward to your reply.

Hi,

the song doesn’t stop. The playlist plays normally through Echo. The issue is just on the phone app, where it shows the first song as now playing but it’s stuck on „zero playtime left“. When I press pause it pauses the echo. It just doesn’t show the real song that’s playing and the queue doesn’t progress.

Hey @simoo,

Thanks for the additional info!
Have you tried any troubleshooting so far?
If not, we can start with removing your cached data.
You may also check if there are updates for your Echo device:
Say, "Check for software updates" to install any new software on your Echo device that may be rolled out.

In case the issue persists, let us know what your OS & Spotify versions are and we'll take a further look into this 🙂
Cheers!
