Device: iPhone 12 Pro
Operating System: iOS 15.4.1
In my 2017 Dodge Ram truck/vehicle (which uses RAM Uconnect multimedia system), Spotify podcasts will only play (sound coming through) while on 1x speed. Any speed higher (1.2-3.0x) and the sound stops coming through. The podcast is still playing on my phone, just no sound. When I put it back on 1x, the podcast sound resumes. I want to be able to listen to podcasts in my truck while traveling on faster than 1x speed, but I can't. It has been this way since I got the truck. Disconnecting from vehicle, turning phone Bluetooth on/off, restarting the app, etc - none of it works. I have tried everything.
Anyone else have this issue? Any remedies? I assume it is a software compatibility issue.
Thanks
I have a new iPhone 13 with AT&T and am encountering the same issue. My old Galaxy S10e with Verizon worked fine with 1.2x podcasts or faster.
Hi there folks,
Thank you for posting about this and welcome to the Community!
This behavior sounds odd and we'd like to get more info about your current setups, so we can investigate this deeper. Is this only happening while using Bluetooth to connect to another device (vehicle)? We understand that both of you are having iPhone devices, but we'd also need to know the iOS version of @Trungntran29 if we want to complete our reporting info, so please share it with us.
On the other hand, could we also ask you @mquiring1 to try and use an android device if possible, to see if this behavior will occur again. We'd like to see if this is connected to the operating system of your current mobile devices or not.
Also please share with us the exact version of the Spotify app that both of you are using at the moment, as this will also help us in replicating the issue.
Keep us posted, we'll be on the lookout for your replies.
I have just replaced an android phone with an iPhone 13. In my 2013 Jeep with an older version of their Bluetooth called uConnect my android phone would stream Spotify with no issues. My iPhone however cuts out and skips and speeds up and slows down... It's terrible.
My OS version is 15.4.1.
Hey @Mfrymyer,
This looks like a compatibility issue between the new iPhone's Bluetooth settings and the older uConnect settings of your vehicle.
This could get checked by both your car manufacturer and Apple's support for additional info.
We'd also appreciate it if you could try connecting additional devices to your vehicle in order to determine whether all newer phones cause this connectivity issue.
Many thanks!
We'll be on the lookout for your response.
I have the same issue even if I plug my phone into the vehicle. So I don’t think it’s a Bluetooth problem. I have a 2016 jeep with Uconnect and an iPhone 13.
Hey @Krustyy1,
Thanks for the reply.
Does the issue occur if you don't use the connect features of the uConnect system and connect your iPhone to the head unit with an AUX-Cable? This issue is most likely related to the head unit.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
That’s correct. The podcast will not work at any other speed besides 1x if I plug my phone in via the usb connector to the radio or if I use Bluetooth.
Hey @Krustyy1,
Thanks for your reply.
Could you check if the same happens using a different phone or if it only happens with your iPhone? We're trying to understand if this is isolated to the car's head unit, which seems to be the case here.
Keep us posted.
