Spotify causes disconnect from Apple CarPlay

Solved!

Spotify causes disconnect from Apple CarPlay

Plan: Premium

Country: USA

Device: iPhone 13

Operating System: IOS 15.0

Hello, I recently upgraded my iPhone, and ever since I've changed out my phones, my Apple CarPlay has refused to work with my new phone.

All the other apps, like maps, work through CarPlay, and I can play bluetooth audio with Spotify, but the moment I attempt to play Spotify through CarPlay, my phone disconnects from CarPlay, then reconnects, and it does this glitch-out, disconnecting and reconnecting constantly. It will work fine until the moment I either try to open the Spotify app on my car's CarPlay monitor or press the play button on my car's monitor/my phone.

I have clean reinstalled Spotify, reset my car's Audio/Control system, changed out USB cables, restarted my iPhone, etc. Nothing has worked so far.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to fix this. I am not sure why the model of my phone should make a difference in the functioning of Spotify with my car's CarPlay, but it has been very frustrating. Thank you!

Hey @Akichan808,

Thanks for the post.

Sorry to hear that you're having such an issue with your iPhone.

You can try the following:

  • Run a clean reinstall of the Spotify app, following the instructions here.
  • Disalb the EQ in your phone's Settings > Music > EQ.

Another user who is having the same issue with the iPhone 13 has posted a solution which worked for them here. Make sure to check it out if the above doesn't do the trick 🙂

Hope this helps. Don't hesitate to reach out again.

The settings reset solution from the other user’s post did the trick! Thank you!
