Spotify connect volume on iphone

I play Spotify on my iPhone with latest software, over connect onto my Sony 1050 amplifier.
Sometimes randomly the volume just goes to maximum even if I'm pressing volume down on the side of my phone... This is horrendous!! Is there a way I can basically stop my phone from controlling the volume? So I just use the amplifier controller instead?

Go into the Spotify iOS app settings --> devices --> and turn off "Devices Lock Screen"

This setting makes it so even if you leave the Spotify app, you can control the volume of the connect device with your phone (even on the lockscreen) it could be that you are accidentally pressing the side button. If you turn it off this will make it so it only changes the volume if you press the volume buttons inside of the app.
