Spotify doesn't import every song

Spotify doesn't import every song

I'm encountering a problem where Spotify is recognizing local files I have downloaded, but not letting me play a couple of them. I can play them outside of Spotify just fine. Is there a solution to this?

In the attachment, the greyed out songs are the ones not playing. I've also included the exact file path and they will still not import.

(it would be really great if I could just drag and drop the files to import them)

Did you try re-locating your song to C:\Users\username\Music ? Ofcourse it's on the Windows. And after do that you should close all Spotify process on the task manager.

I don't know how to do it on Mac OS but i think you get it.

All the files are already located there. I went ahead and ended all of the Spotify processes from the task manager and started it again, but all that seemed to do was removed the songs that were greyed out before (see attachment).

I had the same problem yesterday with Chance the Rapper's album.

I think it's some kind of licensing issue, some of his songs are not available. Maybe depends on your region.

Interesting that the same album doesn't work for other users as well! My region is USA, I'm guessing yours might be as well if it's the same issue. Would really suck if it's a licensing issue, we should be able to listen to local files without having to deal with that kind of thing.
