Spotify not playing on phone or AirPods

Spotify not playing on phone or AirPods

I am having an issue with getting music to play on my iPhone. It does not display on “now playing” and no sound comes out although it shows on the app that the song is going. I have restarted the app, disconnected and reconnected Bluetooth and WiFi and I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled.

issue began this morning and was working fine last night.

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

 

Just to confirm, does the issue occur only over Bluetooth or is it also present when playing directly on your iPhone's built-in speakers? Something that comes to mind is downloading a playlist/album to see if you'd be able to play it in Offline mode. I'd also recommend taking a look at this article for some additional steps you can try.

 

If the issue persists, please share a short screen recording which captures how things look on your end so we can investigate further.
