Spotify on TV stops playing when phone leaves house

Spotify on TV stops playing when phone leaves house

Hi! I like to leave music on for my cat when I go out. However, Spotify on my Smart TV stops playing when my phone goes elsewhere. Any ideas how to avoid?

Hey @aliencrayon,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Are you using Connect to navigate the playback on your TV through your phone? If this is the case and you're connected to the home Wi-Fi network with your phone, leaving the house will result in your phone loosing the connection to the Wi-Fi which may result in the playback stopping. Could you make sure, that you're using a mobile data connection for your phone before leaving the house?

Also keep in mind, that if you let the playback on on the TV, you won't be able to simultaneously play music on the phone. This may also be the reason for the playback stopping on the TV.

Did we get the details right? If not, share as much details as possible so we can prepare a suitable solution.

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

I’m also having this problem but I don’t know what “connect” is or how to unconnect it.

Hey @PemaRaja,

Welcome to the Community!

More info on what Connect is, as well as how it works you can find in this article. Check it out, do some investigation and let us know if you think that's what's causing the playback issues on your end.

It'll also be very helpful if you could include as many details as possible after that so we can investigate further.

Cheers 🙂
