Spotify on shuffle mode

I recently got spotify free without the free trial, and I was able to play whatever song I wanted whenever I wanted with unlimited skips, but I couldn't download songs- a day ago I logged in to Spotify for the first time on my laptop, and now I can't play a song whenever I want, and I can only do "Shuffle Play" on my phone. and I get ads.  I can however, play whatever song I want on my laptop (Windows 10) without shuffle play, so basically the power was given to the laptop.  Is there a way I can switch the ad mode to the laptop and have more freedom on the phone?  Thank you!

Hi there!

Unfortunately, Spotify on mobile is limited to shuffling on ad-supported plans. However, on desktop, you do have the ability for on-demand playback even with a free account, like you noticed. If you would like on-demand playback on mobile you will need to upgrade to a Premium subscription.
