Spotify running on the background even though I killed the app

My Question or Issue

 I noticed that, even though I close the Spotify app (Home button x2 + swipe up), somehow Spotify is still running. 

Just now, I was watching a video on my PC and unlocked my phone, I noticed that a song was playing on my phone and it was from Spotify as it is the only music streaming service that I use. I checked if Spotify was open but the application didn't show up by pushin the home button twice.

I'm not sure if it has anything to do but I use the Web Player everyday and is where I'm using Spotify all the time.

It's somewhat annoying that a song starts playing on my phone out of the blue.

Hm, that's odd! I know this sounds obvious, but would you mind performing a clean reinstall by following the steps outlined here? This can solve many common problems that our users experience.
