So for the past week I the an issue I think it same as yours, spotify was really slow, it would take forever for a song to start. Then when I would listen to my playlists, after a few seconds sometimes it would pause for a few seconds or for as long as like a minute thru out the whole song for ever song even if I had it offline. If that is what you are experiencing let me me know, I didn't know if my issue is the same as everyone else has! But I think I figured out how to fix it, after hours of research I put a few different people's suggestions together and so far my spotify is incredibly fast instant start of songs even if it's a new search, and no pausing or freezing what so ever! I'm so happy I love spotify again....so far......
It's been several days without any meaningful word from Spotify (at least, not as far as I can tell). Can we please get an update from Spotify on this thread? Has a bug been found? Based on the number of posts to this thread, it seems to clearly be a widespread problem with the latest version update, and not specific to any country or provider. I have tried all of the suggestions and nothing has worked so far. If someone finds a real solution, please post the details.
Care to tell the fix?
Ok I had posted earlier that I found out how to stop the freezing and pausing and slowness. I dunno if it will work for everyone, but it worked for me, I have been on spotify literally all day and haven't had a single issue, fast as ever....here's what I did....
1. Go to spotify.com and login with Facebook as normal.
2. Click on your name at the top right hand corner to drop down Your account info and click on edit profile.
3. Under "Use spotify on your devices" click on Set a password for your devices.
4. Write down your Device username ( a long number)
5. Click on "Send email to set password" (your username will also be in the email)
6. Check your email that is associated with your Facebook account.
7. Click on "set your device password" follow the steps to set up a password.
8. When finished open up spotify, log out of it completely, then click on "login with spotify details" instead of logging in with Facebook. Put in your username and password that you just set up.
Test it out, Let me know if it worked for you, I'm Really curious to see if it's the association with logging in thru Facebook that is the issue it seems everyone is having!
I was so hopeful that the above suggestion would work for me but it hasn't so far. Customer support has recommended that I do a complete system restore on iPad but am VERY hestitant to do that. Has anyone tried that?
@TheBadMan - my problems are IDENTICAL!! I have been rounds with customer service - they can't figure it out.
Still have the problem:
- Stream a song over Wifi, Normal / High /Extreme quality => song playback stops after ~30s
- Stream a song over 3G, Normal / High /Extreme quality => song playback stops after ~30s
- Play a synced song with Normal / high / Extreme quality => song playback stops after a random time
- Logout the application, log on again, same tests performed => no result!
- unsintall the Spotify iOS application, reinstall, login, same tests performed => no results!
It seems that's there's no workaround, so I'm going to reproduce the problem while my iPhone is connected to Xcode (I have a developer licen se) in order to see the device console output when the problem occurs!
See you later....
No specific console information thrown when the playback stop problem occurs....

Got it... It's working now, after all the test I mentionned before in my previous replies, I get it work....
==> I killed all the background applications, and restarted the phone!!!
This seems simple, but it worked... I'm playing Spoitfy for 2 hours as it was before: stable and stable and stable, no more spurious and continuous audio playback halt!
Fingers crossed, but this seems to have worked for me.
I do very much agree with you @Chrisz75. However, I've noticed that with the absence of any sense of urgency comes the fact that in my 15+ emails of tech support, it's been obvious that they don't think the problem has anything to do with them. This morning's email mentioned that there may be a "widespread ISP problem" with everyone who's experiencing this problem.
Hi All:
I'm only an hour into listening, so who knows, but I turned my iPhone (4) off and then back on, then launched Spotify, and I've suffered no musicus interruptus thus far.
I hardly ever turn my phone off, so this was the first time I'd tried it since the onset of symptoms. Might be worth a try, since it only takes a minute.

Interesting... Other people running into this - Do you tend to keep your phone on all the time?
Any chance this is going to be fixed? £9.99 a month ya know!! Will have to cancel account if not sorted ASAP...
Have reset ipad, updated both ipad and app...yet nothing plays !!
****update I have once again turned the ipad off and then on again, this time it seems to have fixed the issue just waiting to see if songs stop after 2mins*** I think its fair to say 99% of us leave our phones/pads on all the time...
Could a few more of you guys try this out? We're investigating our end too.
Well that did seem to make it work, played a whole album without stopping. so far so good.
I have tried everything out on my iPad. No luck.
Since restarting my iPhone yesterday, the app is now working. No more stopping in the middle of songs. Make sure you power down properly, holding the top button down a few seconds until the "Slide to Power Off" option appears.
