Spotify stops working on AirPods - Apple Music is fine

My Question or Issue

Recently, whenever I listen to Spotify through my Apple AirPods and the screen locks, Spotify stops playing after 10seconds. There is no issue at all with Apple Music, it does not stop playing when the screen locks.

This was not the case a couple of weeks ago - all was working fine.
