Spotify won't connect to Xbox Series X

Spotify won't connect to Xbox Series X

Hi.

 

I'm a premium user in the US, using my iPhone to connect to an Xbox Series X. 

 

This afternoon, while I was playing games and listening to Spotify in the background, the app disconnected from the Xbox.  When I've tried to reconnect, the Xbox app goes to the "Who's listening" panel, then to a recommended playlists panel, then back and forth between these two--all the while never connecting to the iPhone.  I have tried restarting both the iPhone and the console, and uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox app. 

Spotify Connect is notoriously janky, I know--but this is the first time in 5 years I've seen this particular problem.  I'd appreciate any advice.

Yeah, I'm on PS5 and the same situation is happening since this morning, most of the time I wait it out because like you said originally The connection feature is janky. But also my Spotify app on PlayStation is just bugged out right now as well.

Thanks for reaching out. This is quite strange. Could you send us some videos showing what exactly happens when you try to connect? If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos. Once we have them, we'll happily investigate further.

I’ve had a similar issue as well, it seems to have started in about the second week of november, i was able to download it just fine today but i havent opened it yet. Although the last time i attempted to use the app it gave me a notice tab to restart, turn off and turn on  my Xbox, along with just deleting the app and reinstalling it. I did the first two suggestions and it still didnt work but when i deleted and tried to redownload it, it kept canceling the installation on it’s own. Hopefully the successful redownload this time means it’s working properly again.
