Streaming and downloaded music

My Question or Issue

Why does the Spotify Application for iOS (or other OS also) stream the music even though I've downloaded it. It's a waste of mobile data. Could it be possible to change that ? I know I can turn the application to the offline mode.

Thanks for your help.

Arnaud

Hey @Arnaud22, welcome to the Community.

Hope you're doing great!

Once you've downloaded the tracks Spotify won't stream them using your mobile data. Spotify will only use a really small amount of mobile data/wifi to sent back to the server the number of times the songs you listened to were played.

Hope it helps 🙂

Hi Loxer,

Thank you for your answer. I didn't know that.

I'm sorry to have suspected Spotify to use my mobile data the wrong way.

Thank you again.

Regards,

Arnaud

Hey @Arnaud22,

Happy to help you out 🙂

I'll also test the case when Streaming Music Quality is set to a different level of the Downloaded Music, for example Streaming is set to Very High and Download is set to Normal.

I'll let you know about my test on this.
