Device

(iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy 9, Macbook Pro late 2016)

My Question or Issue I'm giving an old iPhone 3GS a chance as an audio streamer, with Spotify and a bluetooth speaker. Problem is, I can't BROWSE the songs: all I get is a black screen with three dots flashing in sequence. All other functions work as expected. Version is 1.8.1.8 . Thanks for any help.

Hey @MartinsJunior, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

In order to use Spotify, your device would need a version of iOS 11 or later.

I am afraid that Spotify won’t be guaranteed to work on your iPhone since it’s running iOS 6.1.6. More information on the system requirements can be found here.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the quick response. I will keep my old phone as an audio streamer, with the limitations of the unsupported OS version. I would like to point out, though, that my iPad 2, running iOS 9.3.5 (last release for this model) still runs a fully functional Spotify app (version 8.4.62.490). Long live old hardware !
