Switching from Premium to Family Premium

Switching from Premium to Family Premium

I currently have Premium and Pay $9.99 per month. My spouse and I both have the Spotify app on our iPhones and we have the same music on our iPhones but only one of us can play music at a time. Does this mean I have to upgrade to Family Premium for both of us to play music on our phones at the same time? If I upgrade to Family Premium will either of us lose any of the music that is already on our phones

Hey @KCmusic3

Yes, you need to upgrade your account. When you upgrade, you invite existing accounts to your family plan, so no one loses their music and it stays separate. Sounds like a win-win to me. (Coming from someone who is a family subscriber)

Just livin' it up in the USA!

thanks for the info

Hi jnorris170, I received your response some time ago but never got around to switching to Family Premium. In your reply you said that once I switched to Family Premium I could invite existing accounts to my plan. The issue is that I subscribe to Premium and for some reason my spouse has the same music on her iPhone but we cannot play music on both phones at the same time; it is like they are one phone - you can play from either one but not both at same time. If I go with Family Premium the website says that my music will stay on my phone. Question: will the music on my spouse's phone stay on her phone as well? If not, how do I get all of the music we have accumulated that is on my phone and (possibly some different music accumulated on her phone) onto her phone as well? In addition, when I switch to Family Premium, will she lose all of the music already stored on her iPhone because even if there is a way to copy all of my music to her iPhone, she has some additional different music on her iPhone and will she lose that?. Sorry for the long info request. Thanks in advance. KCmusic3!
