The spotify account login information is not valid - iPhone app/Sonos program

I recently added Spotify to my Sonos system.  I have a premium account and added the service on my iMac, apparently successfully, by using my Spotify Account login (not FB userid) and password.  I've done the same in my Sonos app on my iphone.  On both my iMac and iPhone app, my playlists appear and all appears well...until I attempt to play anything; I receive the following message:

 

"the spotify account login information is not valid"

 

I spent some time looking through the forums but didn't see a successful response to this problem.  I'd love to get this working.

Fixed this problem myself today.

 

This may help others:

 

First go to Facebook. Delete Spotify from the app page, så that Spotify is no longer integreted with Facebook.

Then go to Sonos, at set up Spotify via Sonos.

 

After that it worked for me

I have the same problem - Premium Spotify account, linked to Sonos - lets me get all the way to selecting a track in Spotify but when I try to play it I get the "login information is not valid" error. I am using the device code and password that I just generated in Spotify. Help !

Greetings:  I am having the same problem.  Did you ever figure out a solution?

So since there is no solution. Maybe we need to look for another streaming service.

Spotify have confirmed they are working on a login issue with Sonos.

Are you connecting using your Spotify username and password or your Facebook email address and password?

My Facebook page. I also tried the other way around but that doesnt work at all.

This issue goes back to 2012. I see people in forums who have had this issue for a year now. So honestly...do you think a solution is comming?

The issue at the minute appears to only be with Facebook authentication. 

 

Can you try logging in using your Spotify username and password instead?:

Username:  Spotify account username (the series of digits if created via Facebook) found on the Overview Page

Password: Set device password here.

I will try this later. Believe i actuallty tried this earlier, but i will give it one more try when im back home

Nope.

It still soesnt work.

I dont think this is a problem that I can solve. This must be a problem with sonos or spotify

Annoying! 

If you have twitter, I would suggest asking @SonosSupport and @SpotifyCares and see if they have any ideas! 

 

I have escalated this Sonos issue here on the community too, so the Spotify team are aware and working on this issue.

Fixed this problem myself today.

 

This may help others:

Hi Peter,

i am having same problem have tried lots of times to play through sonos but keep saying log in account details are invalid. not sure what to try next. I have log in and out of facebook and deleted the app still not working .

Did u delete spotify from the Facebook app? This is vital

same here, followed all the steps, but still no cure

Click Music

Click the Gear Sign

Click Manage Services

Click My Servicees

Click Spotify

Click Reauthorize Account

yes - deleted facebook from the apps and it worked.  thanks so much.

What worked for me is:

  • select settings
  • Manage Services
  • My services
  • Click Spotify and Remove account
  • Once removed, select Manage Services again, then select Available Service
  • Re-install Spotify
