TouchTunes cannot connect to Spotify (error page)

TouchTunes cannot connect to Spotify (error page)

When trying to connect Spotify with my TouchTunes app account, the Spotify website comes up with an error page and is then stuck on it.

I’ve tried connecting/logging in to Spotify both via email and through Facebook but I’m taken to the same error page “invalid_client failed to get client”

Does Spotify still allow connecting with TouchTunes? Is there something I’m doing wrong?

Hey there @colnrei,

Thanks for the post.

It would be best if you reach out to the customer support team from TouchTunes about this one. They should be able to help you with this process.

Hope this helps. We're here if you have other questions.

I have done this already, but the issue seems to be on Spotify's end.

Could you verify that you at least have an API with Spotify working to do this?

I've attached the error page I'm taken to on the Spotify website below.

Hi there @colinrei,

Thank you for your reply.

As far as we can see it should be working according to Touchtunes site.

Can you try a different internet connection to see if the issue persists?

If that doesn't do the trick, can you try a different device/browser?

Keep us posted 😉

Cheers!

I have the same issue on my android LG G7thinq (Verizon).  After entering my spotify login credentials within touchtunes the error 'cannot get client' is displayed.  Tried changing default browser to chrome from firefox, and verified I could login to the mobile web site in chrome. The spotify app is also installed and logged in.  Rebooting phone, logging out of all apps/websites then logging in again: same behavior/error.

Hi folks,

Spotify provides the API to other services, so if something isn't working with said service, they most likely need to double-check how the interaction with our API is configured.

Usually they can use dedicated channels to reach out as partners, so they can work together with our teams on a solution. We'd recommend reaching out to the customer support team from TouchTunes again, as there isn't much we can do about this from our end, as much as we'd like to help.

Hope this clears things up. Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have questions.

I have the same issue

I'm having the same issue on iphone

I’m getting the exact same error.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community.

Just to confirm, does the issue persist even when using a different device (e.g. PC/laptop)?

Lastly, we suggest that you follow the recommendation given by @Alex and let them know the steps you've followed. Keep in mind we only provide the API in order to let other services configure how the interaction with our API is managed from their end.

I would not know as I only take my phone to the bars to play touch tunes.

Touchtunes is an app for Android and Apple iOS (mobile) only.  Hence there is no option to try on a computer.

Judging by what touchtunes is saying it is your api that is the problem as you removed the required access to get what they had working.

Hey folks,

Thanks for your replies in this thread 🙂

We recently discontinued support for a legacy developer service which allowed apps to use and interact with Spotify and stream audio. We understand this is frustrating for you, but there may be alternatives the creator of TouchTunes can use instead.

Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.

Spotify should be able to link to any radio or system...... FIX IT or remove it.
