Tracks skipping

Tracks skipping

Premium plan, USA, iPhone 8 running OS16.0.2

Tracks keep skipping halfway through the song. At first it was just skipping to different songs on my playlist but now it keeps switching to random meditation music. Additionally, it keeps trying to play on other people’s devices. Strangers’ devices, I think. Which is super creepy.
I have tried turning off and on my phone, updating my phone, logging off of Spotify, deleting the app and reinstalling it. Nothing seems to work, in fact the problem just keeps escalating to worse. Please help! I’m going on vacation today and I’m really bummed not to have any music to go with me.

Hi there @BoraNoona,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

It sound like someone else might have gained access to your Spotify account.

I'd recommend going through the steps in this support article asap to secure your account.

Hope this helps.

Ive had this too! Odd thing is this only happens when i try to play on my phone. (Iphone 6) it sometimes skips 3 times when i just click 1 time and it uses my 6 skips of the hour. Im pretty sure i don't have anybody on my account

Hey @unclerk,

Thanks for your reply 🙂

In this case, we'd like to gather as much info as possible. Can you let us know the exact make/model and OS of your device along with the Spotify version you have installed?

On another note, is this happening on another mobile device? It’d be awesome if you could check. You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or a friend to open your account and check.

Lastly, we understand you noticed this doesn't have to do with someone else opening your account without your consent, but, it's always a good idea to secure it in these cases to make sure everything is in order. You can find out more on how to secure your account in the article @Alex shared above.

Keep us in the loop!
