Trouble with syncing Iphone 4s

Hi,

Basically I recently upgraded to spotify Premium with the intention of syncing with my Iphone 4s for offline mode usage. I successfully managed to sync two playlists that I had wanted to my Iphone (roughly 1200 songs) and was able to listen to these  throughout the day as I had planned. However the following day I logged back into spotify on my Iphone when at home and the songs all began to re-sync again, it was as if all the syncing the previous day had never happened!

Can someone explain to me how this has happened? Is there any way to sort this problem so that it never happens again?
