Unable to control other devices through Spotify from my iPhone

Unable to control other devices through Spotify from my iPhone

Plan

Premium

Country

Iceland

Device

iPhone 12 Pro

Operating System

iOS 17.3.1

My Question or Issue

1. I start a playlist on my PC or TV

2. Later on I open Spotify on my iPhone to skip/like/return to a song

3. The playing track momentarily appears at the bottom of the app, where it usually is

4. Before I can click on it, it disspears

The only way to regain control from my iPhone is to interrupt the song being played, commence playing anything from the iPhone, return control to the TV/PC. This makes me interrupt whatever queue was ongoing on my other device.

While writing this report the track being played eventually showed up on my iPhone.

All my devices are connected to the same network, the iPhone via Wi-Fi, the other devices via Ethernet cable.

Hey there @AAlpha

Thanks for reaching out about this and welcome to the Community!

First up, we suggest that you unplug your router from the power > wait for a minute > plug it back again. Also, make sure to restart your devices before trying again.

If the issue persists, could you give another internet connection a go to see if the same happens? You can create a hotspot on your phone and using that to test this out.

Let us know how it goes.
