Are you on a free or premium plan? Does it work on another device?

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

 

For starters, we'd like to add some insights. Are your account free or Premium? Keep in mind our free experience on mobile is different: music on-demand is a Premium feature. If your account is on our free service, you can skip and select songs on a selection of 15 playlists chosen by Spotify based on your likes, as well as personalized playlists, including Daily Mix, Discover Weekly and Release Radar. The desktop app for free users works differently than the app on the phone. You can read more about it in this article.

 

So, if your account is free, that could explain why you can select a specific song.. If that's not the case, would you mind sending us the make/model and OS of the affected device along with the Spotify version you are running? That way we can better understand what's happening on your side.

Thank you for your reply in this thread.

 

To begin with, we'd recommend you take into account the info given by @AlejaR. So if you have a free account, it is not possible to fast-forward or rewind on mobile. However, you should be able to do it from the desktop app and Web Player. If you're not able to do it from those platforms or you have a Premium account, we'd recommend reinstalling the app on your device or clearing the cookies and cache, if you're using the Web Player.

 

If that doesn't help, send over the make, model, and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're running.
