Volume from phone ignored when connected to network speakers

My Question or Issue

Whenever I connect to network speakers spotify ignores the phone volume so I can't contorl the music volume from the phone anymore. (This used to work reliably, now most, but apparently not all, of the time it doesn't work) Restarting the app, or the phone or the network receiver doesn't seem to make a difference.

Hey @gspelvin,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we'd like to gather some additional info. Would you mind sending us the exact Spotify version you're running on your mobile device?

On another note, can you send us the make/model of the speakers you're currently using? Just to confirm, are you able to control the volume when the app is in the background or the phone is locked or does it happen no matter if you're within the app or not?

Meanwhile, we'd suggest you check in the app's settings if you've activated the Spotify Connect in Background option. It allow Spotify Connect features keep running when the app is in the background. You can find it under Devices.

Keep us in the loop!

My Question or Issue

I as of a few days ago no one in the family can remotely adjust the volume from our iPhones on our POLK speaker

I am facing same Issue here.

I can't control the volume from the phone for connected speaker.

Hi @cenkay,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please provide us the following:

  • Is this on all devices or only on specific one(s)?
  • The exact makes, models and OS/Firmware versions of all your affected devices
  • The exact Spotify Versions you use.
  • When did this start happening?
  • Screenshots or a video of the behaviour

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.

Keep us posted.
