When I click a song to play, it plays the playlist in shuffle mode

I have Spotify premium and this has only become an issue as of today, but whenever I click any song to play, it acts as if I clicked shuffle play. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

make sure the Shuffle option is not selected. select the ^ to expand the controls

I'm in mobile. If shuffle is on, any song I press to play will start a playing a random song in the playlist, not the song I pressed. Likewise, if shuffle is off, any song I try to play will play the first song in the playlist automatically.

Could it possibly be that you have songs in your queue? Or maybe your premium membership has run out? Hopefully one of these helped!

Mine does the same thing as mentioned above. My premium membership is still current.

Mine has recently has started to do the same thing. I can no longer directly select the song I want played in my playlist. It will play the very first song and go in alpha order or if I hit shuffle, it plays the same loop (which defeats the purpose of shuffle). This is very annoying. I've had this same playlist for years and building on it. I want to play the newer songs that are at the bottom of the list whenever I want. And Im paying for this???
