Which devices support Spotify? Full list needed please

Which devices support Spotify? Full list needed please

Hello all, I signed up for spotify premium and I now realise I can not sync my playlists with my Ipod Nano 6th generation.

My question is:  What is the FULL list of portable devices (phones or mp3 players) that will support spotify playlists?

My need is simple, I want to create running playlists and go running outside (not connected to internet) with my complete playlists (music I own AND music i've added from spotify premium)... so can I do that with an Ipod nano 7th generation? an Ipod Touch? an Iphone? a Samsung galaxy phone? If yes which ones...

I want to make sure I buy the right device before having a bad surprise...

thanks in advance

Ben

PS:feedback for the moderator: the spotify website is really bad in this regard... listing the devices supporting your app on the website is a basic thing to have... and it's not available... hence me going through tons of forum questions to painfully find an answer.... not impressed at all... very bad first impression of your service.

Hey and welcome to Spotify,

you can use Spotify to sync your local files on the iPod Nano but currently, you cannot add songs from Spotify itself and I don't think, that this will change because of the lincensing (you need to be online every 30 days on mobile devices) You can download the Spotify app on your iOS device (iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad), Windows or Android phone. Which devices exactly? I don't know if there's any official list or so but I can tell, it works with all actuall devices. Personally, I have used it on an iPhone 4,5S, iPad 2, iPad 4, Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy S3/S4, HTC One.

You can read more about the iPod and Spotify here.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask 🙂

Hi. Spotify doesn't really support MP3 players. There is support for 5th gen and older nanos, classics and shuffles but you can only synch music you already own to these but not spotify content. Spotify music can only be played on a device capable of running a spotify app as the music is encrypted for copyright reasons.

So the smallest player capable of playing spotify tracks is probably the ipod touch at this time. It will work with spotify in the same way as an iphone. Also it synchs over wifi so you won't have issues with the lightning connector.

Moving away from iOS, there is a lack of compatible hardware although the sony android powered players should work.

Thanks a lot guys,

So I guess I will buy a new Galaxy S4 and install the Spotify app on it. Do you confirm that I will be able to listen to the full spotify music library (as long as I've made the playlist available offline) once outside my home with no access to internet on the phone?

Yup, you will be able to access any offline playlists you have saved on your device without access to the internet.
