My Question or Issue

I work on an offshore oil rig far from any cellular network so rely on WiFi only. The internet isn't the greatest for all onboard to start with but I can't understand why downloaded albums won't play unless I switch the WiFi off, and then back on once it's playing. The whole point of having the albums downloaded is so they will play offline regardless of the quality of connection. Is there a reason for this? It only seems to have become an issue over the past year or so.

Hey @Dogegg1280, welcome to the Community.

Hope you're doing great!

Could you try turning Offline Mode on? Follow the steps here under 'Switch on Offline Mode'.

Spotify will try to connect and check for any updates if it detects a network connection and it's necessary (e.g. a song might have been removed from Spotify from the artist/label).

Hope it helps 🙂
