Hello,
I have noticed an issue on the latest iOS 7.1.1 iPhone 5, app. 1.4.0.1334 regarding Your Music not updating the Artists view correctly. It is a similar (probably related) to the OSX 0.9.11.27.g2b1a638c problem / bug I recently reported (see below link).
The blow screen shot highlights an artist I am currently Following. The screen shot following shows the artist is not present in the Your Music view by Artist. This same issue is occurring on OSX. It just so happens I don't have any albums saved for this artist. I have many other artists that I've added in the past 2+ years, that are displaying both with and without saved albums.
I would strongly recommend Spotify review (and fix) how Your Music is displaying Artists that you are either just following, or have added albums or songs for, or a combination, because both OSX and iOS platforms are NOT Updating correctly. There are many use cases were are I am seeing inconsistencies. And please don't ask me to prove each one to you (like your Help / Support team did), as that should be your job!
Thanks, Phil
See below sort by Name that is missing the artist I am following above???

I have reproduced this bug on iOS 7.1.1, iPhone 5, app 1.4.0.1334.
Artists that I've only followed in the past (i.e., haven't added songs or albums) do appear in Your Music Artists tab, but new follows do not immediately appear. I rebooted the application and it still didn't appear: it came through about 10 minutes later. It also came through at that time to my desktop application.
Hello,
I am seeing different results that you are. I can wait hours, days, and NEVER see the artist appear in the Artist view if just Following (with no albums added).
I am experiencing this on the latest versions of both OSX, Window, and Web versions of Spotify. Even after adding an album, I still can't follow the artists on these platforms indicating a Following status. Also, if you look at the artist page, it does show Following, but does not appear in the Artist view!!!
Spotify Team, care to comment and acknowledge this bug and provide a time / estimate when it will be fixed?
Thanks, Phil
Hello,
Sure, this info is actually displayed in two posts above....
iOS 7.1.1 iPhone 5, app. 1.4.1, OSX 0.9.11.27.g2b1a638c . Also see the same problem with the Web app.
I also noticed some really strange behavior this morning using iOS 1.4.1...I was able to deselect Following for an artist, and then reselect Following, and then was able to see the Following label uner the Artist name in the Artist Tab of Your Music. However, after shutting down the app., and restarting, the Following label in the Artist Tab of Your Music was once again missing.
It's all messed up. I think it's a combination of back-end and front-end problem (being polite).
Thanks, Phil

Have just experienced the same issue on desktop. I'm using Windows 7 PC with Spotifyversion 0.9.11.27.g2b1a638c.
Thanks
Hello,
I think we're talking about different topics / issues.
The recognized BUG / DEFECT that I am referring to is the incorrect or missing display in Your Music / Artist view of the complete list of artists that are being followed. So for example, on my profile page (on ALL Spotify apps. including Web, iOS, OSX, Windows - don't have Android so I can't tell, but I would bet yes) it shows that I am following 1,300+ artists. I'm lukcy if I'm seeing 100+ artists appearing on the Your Music / Artist view...
This is NOT related to any update timing issue. I think it's a back-end DB issue.
Just to clarify, artists that you are following should appear in the Your Music / Artist view even if you have not saved any albums or tracks for a particular artist!
Over to you Spotify....
Thanks, Phil
@philmg
There's a 10,000 tracks limit too. Just take note of that.
EDIT: Mixed that up - thats another feature.
Hi Jeremy,
I did report it about 3 weeks ago, but have not seen or heard anything...
I don't know why I'm the only person that seems to have an issue with this....
I like the slick UI of Your Music, but it's still lacking in functionality big time! For example, if you have a large collection of albums or artists (when they fix it), they need an alpha index along the side of the screen to quickly move through 100's - 1,000's of records (either albums, artists, or tracks). The design and function of Your Music only supports a very small collection (more in function than size...)
Thanks, Phil
Hi,
I already hit that limit....and realized I need to use Your Music as a temp. holding area and deleted my 800+ albums. That's why not having a list of the artists I am following is such a BIG deal for me. I can't remember the 1,300+ artists I'm following....
I also posted a comment re: the link you sent out.
Regards, Phil
Hi Jeremy,
Before Collections or now Your Music, I also created a playlist for ever new album (mostly Jazz) that I planned to listen to. It was also the only way to download back then.
The idea of a collection or Your Music is good, but to really function as a true collection, Spotify would need to add some additional features like:
These are just a few...
When I hit the 10,000 song (800+ album) limit, I actually deleted 90% and decided to use Your Music as a staging area for listening and then deleting until Spotify provide an indicator (which they never will) and then let me sort by it so I could quickly go to albums I have not listened to before.... Also, if the following artists display worked in Your Music so you could actually see all artists that you are following (over 1,300 in my case) ..even if just following with no albums saved, then I can easily select one my Jazz artists and view an album I might want to listen to.
Sorry for long winded answer...maybe the Product folks at Spotify will read it....
Regards, Phil
Hi Jeremy,
Checking in on this issue because I am having a similar problem. Rather than some not showing up, none of the artists I have synced offline albums for show up when I go to My Music and then Artists on my iPhone. They show up just fine on WiFi, and the albums show up in My Music-> Albums when not on WiFi. I am using the most up to date iOS for 4s and an up to date Spotify app.
