crackling noise in car

crackling noise in car

I get alot of crackling noise when using Spotify in my car. Similar results using an iphone 5s and my new iphone 6. I connect to my car (Mini Cooper S 2014) using a premium bmw iphone cable. I have also tried with an original apple cable with same results. When connecting, spotify recognizes the infotainment system and i can scroll through my playlists directly on the central display.

I have temporarily switched to deezer to avoid this and everything is working fine. Deezer is just a lot worse product than spotify. So i was hoping that someone can help me fix this issue so i can go back to using Spotify.

The problem as you posted eventually got fixed. But now, this is happening again after 2 updates ago. I can also confirm it is isolated to Spotify. Apple Music does not have the same issue.

Having the same issue in my 2011 335i and my 2009 135i. New aux cable, and a new phone.

Oops. I forgot about this post. My issue is seemingly limited to my
vehicles – not Spotify. There's something wrong with Nissan's (and then
Infiniti's) connection with a Lightning cable. We have a Pathfinder and a
Q70. They both use the same infotainment software, and I would imagine the
same hardware. After the same issue presented itself with the Infiniti, I
realized it's not Spotify. It also was present in Apple Music and I was
able to confirm this even with a new phone and multiple cables.

The problem existed with an iPhone 6S and now also an iPhone 7 Plus. Again,
using the supplied lightning cable and multiple other maker cables resulted
in the same crackling issue with both Apple Music and Spotify.
