deleting songs by mistake on a iPhone

deleting songs by mistake on a iPhone

I deleted some songs from a playlist whilst listening on my iPhone and I'd like to get them back — it seems too easy to delete as there is no 'are you sure' question when you swipe the song.

I'd like to know what I deleted (and put them back ...) as the playlist I created comes from many weeks of discovering music which I then placed on this particular playlist...

Thanks to anybody who can help...

Hey @GerryBee

Sorry to hear about this problem.

Was this a playlist, or was this the "songs" section of Your Library?

Are you sure you deleted songs from the playlist in the iOS app?

To delete a song is is not very easy to do and it does require confirmation:

REMOVE A SONG

  1. In the playlist, tap Options  in the top right corner.
  2. Tap Edit.
  3. Tap remove  to the left of the track.
  4. Tap Delete to confirm.

When you swipe a song to the left what it does is add or remove it from the "songs" section of Your Library. It could be that you did that instead. Is that what happened?

Save a song

  1. Find the song you’d like to save.
  2. Swipe left to save.

Alternatively:

  1. Tap  next to the song you’d like to save.
  2. Tap Save.

You can now find this in Your Library Songs collection.

Remove a song

  1. Find the song you’d like to remove.
  2. Swipe left to remove.

Alternatively:

  1. Tap  next to the song you’d like to save.
  2. Tap Remove.

Hi there,

Thank you for answering so quickly…

I don’t know if people are aware of this but I found out it IS quite easy to delete a song from one’s playlist on the iPhone…

The picture below shows you what I mean…of course, people may manipulate the software wrong but the fact is …it can be done ! And I did not want to delete those song…as I forget what they are now !

Here is the explanation : and the picture below shows you what I mean — in this case, if you wanted to swipe the ‘white’ line to have a song (You got what it takes..) come back to the beginning…you may swipe the song on the playlist — in this case, the ‘Ooh Wee’ off the playlist…!!

So when you swipe the song towards the left, you get a ‘cross’ sign and if its done too quickly, it is swiped off the playlist !!

And there is no ‘Are you sure ?’ question like when using the software on your computer…

yes, I may have done that with my manipulation and now I can’t remember what I took out and would like to get them back…!!

Thanks again for your help

In this case,

I suggest you contact support to see if they can recover the songs. If you want you can link them to this thread for reference.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to answer but I haven't yet found the answer...I still haven't managed to find out how to recuperate a song that I swiped off the playlist as it does not ask you 'are you sure?'..when you do that action...

The fact is I swiped a couple of songs off a playlist and I don't know how to get them back in. Also I don't know if they were kept in some other place either...

So sorry to hear about this!
Was it your Apple Music or Spotify Music? If it was Apple Music I'd highly recommend you contact apple or see if you can re download! If it was your Spotify music I'd just look the music back up! Sorry if I misunderstood your question hope I helped!
